The Importance of Intentional Client Relationships

We always say what we do isn’t really about the marketing—it’s about empowering others to be their best selves. Why marketing, then? Well, marketing is what we know, so we use those tools to not only help our clients succeed but also to feel better about themselves in the process. Seem like a tall order? It’s actually not. When people feel like they have the tools and support to succeed, they’re more confident, motivated, and clearer in their direction. At TealHaus, this entire process starts not with a logo or tagline or even a marketing plan: it starts with forming a relationship with our clients.

Director of Client Experience, Kristen McLean, elaborates on the relationships we build with clients: “We know our clients, both professionally and personally. It’s about understanding what makes them tick, what they’re passionate about, and how we can support them not just as clients, but as people.”At TealHaus, we nurture these relationships in two key ways–through our Haus Parties, as well as getting to know our clients on an individual basis.

We began Haus Parties a few years ago after having conversations with clients and realizing we could create meaningful connections that would help everyone grow and succeed. We host these at local breweries and open up a space for everyone in the community to really connect, share ideas, and find opportunities to collaborate. Each party also supports a local charity, with 100 percent of the ticket proceeds going straight to a local nonprofit. We’ve had the opportunity to partner with organizations such as Meals on Wheels, the Greenville Humane Society (where one dog was adopted on the spot!), and Communities in Schools.

We’re always looking for ways to show our clients how much we appreciate their partnerships, whether it’s showing up at their big events or performances (shout out to the Fine Arts Center and their ELEVATE Showcase!), sending a little something to welcome new clients, or just a thoughtful note when they need it most.

At TealHaus, service is a priority, and that doesn’t mean we simply follow through on our promises. It means we actually care. By treating our professional relationships with the same care and respect as our personal ones, our goal is to create a welcoming community where everyone feels supported and valued.
