What do you do when life throws you a curveball? If you’re our founder, Lindsay Niedringhaus, you turn it into a thriving creative strategy firm—and have a lot of fun along the way.
In Episode 147 of Women Talk Construction, Lindsay sat down with Angela and Christi to chat about her not-so-typical journey into entrepreneurship, the power of storytelling, and why building a business with strong women by your side makes all the difference.
Angela, the Director of Business Development at Hill Electric Company, is a client of TealHaus and one of many in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) space. In the true spirit of the Women Talk Construction podcast, the women reflect on their careers and industries and how being a woman, even in male-dominated fields, is a strength and an asset.
So, How Did TealHaus Happen?
Lindsay didn’t set out to start an agency. In her own words, TealHaus was a bit of a happy accident. What began as freelance branding work grew (quickly!) into something bigger. The need was there, the creativity was flowing, and most importantly, people were asking for more.
Today, TealHaus is a team of women who love helping brands find their voice and tell their stories. The original one-woman show is now a group of designers, writers, thinkers, and doers—because Lindsay believes the best ideas happen when different perspectives are at the table.
Branding Isn’t Static (And Neither Are We)
One of our favorite parts of the episode was Lindsay’s take on branding: it’s not a logo. It’s not a color palette. It’s a living, breathing thing that evolves just like the people behind it.
At TealHaus, we help brands embrace that evolution. Whether you’re a start-up figuring it out or a legacy business ready to reintroduce yourself to the world, we’re here to guide you through the messy middle to create results that make your brand shine.
Let’s Talk Feelings (Seriously)
If you’ve worked with us, you know: we’re big on storytelling. Why? Because people don’t connect with buzzwords—they connect with heart.
Lindsay dove into this on the podcast, sharing how brands that lead with authenticity and emotion create more meaningful, long-term relationships with their audience. It’s not just about making noise. It’s about being heard—and remembered.
Let the Numbers Talk
Analytics may not sound glamorous. But when you understand your data, you understand your people. And that’s powerful.
Lindsay encouraged listeners to lean into the numbers—not fear them. At TealHaus, we use data to shape strategy, optimize what’s working, and pivot when it’s not. You don’t have to be a data scientist to benefit from insights. You just have to know what questions to ask.
A Word for the Dreamers
To the women thinking about starting their own business: Lindsay sees you. She’s been you. And her advice is simple:
- Start where you are.
- Find your people.
- Don’t be afraid to fail.
Because the truth? Every “no” teaches you something. Every pivot brings you closer to your purpose. And if you’re building something from the heart, you’re already on the right track.
In Case You’re New Here
Before founding TealHaus, Lindsay wore a lot of hats—writer, editor, marketing director, brand strategist. She’s also the creative force behind TealHaus’s sister company, HerHaus, a community-focused subscription wellness brand for women.
